Asbury Hospital and Fertility Centre, a state-of the-art medical facility at Anwomaso in Kumasi, has organised a free health screening for hundreds of people in the area.<\/p>\n
They were screened for HIV, hepatitis, malaria parasites along with blood pressure tests and other\u00a0general medical examinations.<\/p>\n
Children with worm infestation were also de-wormed.<\/p>\n
The exercise was to herald the start of\u00a0operations of the 60-bed well-equipped hospital staffed by specialist doctors and consultants in cardiology, urology, orthopedic, obstetrics and gynecology, neurosurgery and pediatrics.<\/p>\n
Dr. Thomas Dennis, its Chief Executive Officer, said, the free screening was meant to aid the people to know their health status and seek treatment.<\/p>\n
He said the decision to build the facility in area was to bring quality healthcare closer to the population.<\/p>\n
As a gynecologist, he had seen many women go through enormous agony – to have children and the Centre would offer a one-stop-shop for women finding it difficult to conceive and give birth.<\/p>\n
Dr. Dennis encouraged the people to take advantage of the facility to receive quality and prompt medical care.<\/p>\n
