{"id":178251,"date":"2016-01-01T13:06:26","date_gmt":"2016-01-01T13:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=178251"},"modified":"2016-01-01T13:06:26","modified_gmt":"2016-01-01T13:06:26","slug":"radio-station-two-firms-fined-ghc122000-for-illegal-connection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/01\/radio-station-two-firms-fined-ghc122000-for-illegal-connection\/","title":{"rendered":"Radio station, two firms fined GHc122,000 for illegal connection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Western Region has fined three institutions to the tune of GHc122,607.61 for illegally using power.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The companies have since entered into a payment plan with the ECG to pay all monies, failure to which they will be prosecuted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;AVFlTDWrVMw2VvMBdykODnRCHnrtsZPQ&#8221;]The companies in question are Ankobra Fm in Axim in the Nzema East Municipality, BP Restaurant in Takoradi\u00a0and Johnson and Johnson, a small scale mining company in Tarkwa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ankobra Fm was surcharged GHc16, 998.76, Johnson and Johnson, GHc100, 578.74 and BP Restaurant, GHc 5,030.11.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Western Region Public Relations Officer of the ECG, Philip Osei Bonsu indicated, \u201cthis is part of our effort to enhance our revenue collection and protection. This is to ensure that the Electricity Company of Ghana becomes that credible off taker all Ghanaians want ECG to be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He however warned that \u201cwe are putting this out to our cherished customers to serve as deterrent to all those who will engage in illegal connections. Apart from surcharging you, you may be prosecuted. We have started an exercise of deploying our technicians to visit every meter in the system to ensure the integrity of our meters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added, \u201cWe are committed to this course.
