Boxer Braimah Kamoko alias Bukom Banku has for the second time, defeated his long-time pal,\u00a0Michael Ayittey Powers.<\/p>\n
Ayittey Powers was knocked out by Bukom Banku at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium\u00a0early Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
Powers failed to answer the bell for the sixth round after a rather impressive challenge in the early rounds with some overhead punches but his strength worn as the fight progressed.<\/p>\n
Braimah Kamoko (Bukom Banku), lived up to the billing with a predicted sixth round technical knockout over Ayittey Powers, in their \u2018repeat or revenge\u2019 bout at the Baba Yara Stadium early Sunday morning to bring closure to who is the best in the division in the country.<\/p>\n
Powers put in\u00a0a significantly better performance than the one he exhibited during their first bout in May at the Accra Sports Stadium.<\/p>\n
The still undefeated cruiser weight champion, Banku improved to 27-0-0 while Powers dropped to 25 loses, a draw and 21 wins, 17 of which came by way of knockout.<\/p>\n
”I am 37 years and want to end my career in six years after a bout in Tamele. My next move is to fight Nathan Cleverly (a Briton) for the world title,\u2019 Banku said after the fight.<\/p>\n
“I could have ended the fight early but I do not want to kill my brother,” he added.<\/p>\n
A confident Banku started to take charge of the bout again Powers in the later rounds following a balanced opening.<\/p>\n
Banku proved to have superior stamina as Powers slowly tired and spent a lot of time on the ropes as the bout progressed.<\/p>\n
Banku capitalized on his opponents early fatigue\u00a0with incessant combinations that penetrated Powers’ defenses.<\/p>\n
Powers could take no more and failed to answer the call for the sixth round following a punishing fifth round from a stellar Banku.<\/p>\n
Banku was presented with a SUV Range Rover, a ticket for a holiday trip to South Africa and Ghc30,000 donated by Joy Industries following his victory.<\/p>\n
