Overlord of Mamprugu traditional area who doubles as President of the Northern Regional House of chiefs, the Nayiri Naa Bahigu Mahami Abdulai Sheriga in his welcome address catalogued numerous infrastructural deficits recorded in the area and asked government to fix them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Nalerigu-Gbintiri, Binde-Bunkprugu, Wulugu-Kpasenkpe, Kpasenkpe-Yagaba and the Nalerigu-Gambaga roads deserve attention.\u201d<\/p>\n
He nonetheless thanked government for fulfilling some of its 2012 campaign promises made to the people of Mamprugu land.<\/p>\n
He decried the low representation of government appointees from Mamprugu land.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish to state that the number of political appointees from Mamprugu area in your government is on the low side and I will want to use this opportunity to appeal to you ton increase our representation in your government if possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Nayiri bemoaned the falling standard of education in Mamprugu land and called for concerted efforts to overturn the situation.<\/p>\n
