The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hanna Tetteh has debunked reports that about 300 Ghanaians are facing execution in Tripoli, Libya.<\/p>\n

The media reports suggested that some Ghanaians were arrested for loitering around in town and have been sentenced to death.<\/p>\n

But the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said the report “cannot be confirmed.”<\/p>\n

The ministry revealed this following investigations conducted by the Ghanaian Embassy in Malta which has oversight over national affairs in Libya.<\/p>\n

“Our Embassy in Tripoli, Libya was relocated to Valletta, Malta over a year ago and it is our Embassy in Malta that conducted investigations on this matter on our behalf,” she said.<\/p>\n
