Hundreds of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters besieged\u00a0the Prampram District\u00a0Court in the Ningo Prampram Constituency on Tuesday, to protest against the prosecution of the constituency’s Youth Organizer, Mohammed Habib, for allegedly assaulting the newly elected Parliamentary Candidate, Sam George.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n Habib Mohammed is standing trial for allegedly assaulting Sam George during the primary between him and the incumbent MP, E.T. Mensah , where Mohammed, an aide to E.T. Mensah, allegedly punched him\u00a0in the eye.<\/p>\n He was arrested by the police and later granted bail after Sam George lodged a complaint.<\/p>\n Although the state is prosecuting the case, members of the party believe Sam George is the one who instigated it since he has refused to settle it out of court.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Habib reportedly assaulted\u00a0Sam George on Sunday November 22, after he [Sam George] alleged that about 3,000 names had been deleted \u00a0from the NDC’s Ningo Prampram voters’ register.<\/p>\n
