Kumasi Mayor, Kojo Bonsu, has assured residents of the Kumasi\u00a0Metropolis that there would be\u00a0adequate security during the yuletide. The Kumasi\u00a0Metropolitan Assembly, he said, is working closely\u00a0with the Ashanti\u00a0Regional Police Command to the safety of lives and property.<\/p>\n
The KMA Chief Executive made\u00a0this known at the Night of Nine Lessons and Carols, organized by the\u00a0KMA.<\/p>\n
The Kumasi Metropolis records several robbery cases despite the continuous efforts of the police in arresting and prosecuting criminals.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0police with ablesupport from the military are on the ground and on\u00a0high alert; and measures are in place to guarantee the safety and security\u00a0of our citizens during and after this period.”<\/p>\n
He urged residents to be concerned about keeping a clean environment whiles being conscious of their personal safety during the period.<\/p>\n
“As we celebrate the yuletide, let us endeavor to keep our environment\u00a0clean and also not neglect our security and general wellbeing.”<\/p>\n
According to\u00a0the Mayor, the\u00a0KMA’s\u00a0Night of Nine Lessons and Carols event, was to “usher in the birth of Christ”.<\/p>\n
He added that, the event, the 2nd of\u00a0its kind, “offers an opportunity for the assembly to interact with all stakeholders and\u00a0the good people of Kumasi.”<\/p>\n
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Peter Anerfi, on his part asked\u00a0residents to remain united during and after the festivities in their efforts to contribute their quota to national development.<\/p>\n
“We should all resolve\u00a0to have a new sense of renewal towards unity,\u00a0peace and commitment towards building a prosperous nation. We should\u00a0not lose sight of the fact that, another side of the season is often\u00a0characterized by lawlessness and all manner of antisocial activities, it is therefore important for us to comport ourselves in a manner that\u00a0will not sway us away from the right\u00a0side of the law. We should try as\u00a0much as possible to avoid any situation that will compromise the joy\u00a0of the season.”<\/p>\n
