Lawyer Philip Addison, a defeated parliamentary aspirant had gone to court to have a re-run of the parliamentary primary in the constituency because he claims that the election he lost to one Nii Nortey was a sham.<\/p>\n The NPP\u2019s National Executive Committee (NEC) is meeting to deliberate on the matter after it convinced Mr. Addison to withdraw a suit he had filed in court.<\/p>\n According to Franklin Badu Jnr, while the party members held placards, \u201cabout 15 men who are members of the party’s private security group, the Invincible Forces, came from across the street with clubs, plywood and other weapons and\u00a0chased them away.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt was so scary that journalists had to also run for cover,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Franklin reported that, in the process, the windscreen of a Nissan Urvan bus was damaged.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is believed that the Nissan bus was used to convey the party members to the NPP head office, and that those\u00a0with the placards are loyalists of Nii Noi Nortey, the NPP’s candidate elect for Klottey Korle,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Franklin says the Police arrived at the scene to quell the tension.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
