The management of Engineers and Planners Company Limited has rejected accusations by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that it is indirectly involved in the controversial AMERI power deal.<\/p>\n
The NPP on Monday accused President Mahama and his brother Ibrahim Mahama who is the Chief Executive Officer of the company, of masterminding<\/a><\/strong><\/span> the inflation of the $510 million deal.<\/p>\n But the company in a statement clarified that \u201cEngineers and Planners is in no way involved and has no role in AMERI\u2019s contract with the Government of Ghana and the purchase or sourcing of power turbines by AMERI for the generation of power.\u201d<\/p>\n The company further clarified that it was only \u201ccontracted by the Volta River Authority (VRA) to undertake some civil works at Aboadze to prepare a platform to receive the power generating units and other ancillary equipment for the AMERI 250MW Power Project\u201d adding that \u201cPlanners finished its work as specified and has handed over the completed platform to the VRA.\u201d<\/p>\n It threatened to institute legal action against the NPP if these allegations continue.<\/p>\n \u201cEngineers and Planners wishes to caution that it has legal rights and shall not hesitate to exercise these to clear its name if this situation persists.\u201d<\/p>\n Read the full statement from Engineers and Planners below\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The management of Engineers & Planners Company Limited (E&P) has reacted to a statement by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) claiming among others that the Company is connected to the AMERI Energy Power Project, and described its involvement as \u201ca serious cause for concern.\u201d<\/p>\n The NPP in its statement also claimed that the President of the Republic of Ghana, HE John Dramani Mahama was once a director of E&P.<\/p>\n A statement from the management of the Company states as follows:<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By; Marian Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana\n
