Joshua Clottey has finally got the title he won in Australia a month after he beat Anthony Mundine.<\/p>\n
The ‘Grand Master’ returned to Ghana after his April 9 victory from his latest conquest, but without the prize he worked for.<\/p>\n
On Friday morning, the new World Boxing Association (WBA) International light-middleweight title confirmed on Facebook that the boxing body had finally sent him the belt.<\/p>\n
In front of his home fans, Anthony Mundine was brutally floored five times by the man from Accra.<\/p>\n
For a sport that has the tradition of presenting titles to winners in the ring just after their triumph, the absence of the WBA International belt on the night when Clottey won was strange.<\/p>\n
“I raised questions but it seemed to me that they did not expect me to win the title,” Clottey explained to the Daily Graphic when he touched down days after the win.<\/p>\n
“I called my manager in the United States over the matter and he spoke to them about it. It was to be delivered within days, but now almost two weeks after the fight, I\u2019m yet to receive the belt,” he said at the time.<\/p>\n
