A clerk assigned to the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, has been arrested for allegedly concealing vital information in connection with the state\u2019s appeal challenging the freeing of businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome.<\/p>\n
Officials of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) picked up Kafui Bansah after it emerged that he had deliberately refused to enter the date for the hearing of the state\u2019s appeal.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”xTE5p9uCUIS7lpRL24zIrqTuwFp9r31k”]An official search from the Court of Appeal\u2019s registry indicated that Bansah received hearing notices for two cases, including Woyome\u2019s, on November 18, 2015, but he made entries for one, leaving out Woyome\u2019s.<\/p>\n
Woyome\u2019s case was billed for hearing on November 26, 2015.<\/p>\n
However, on the said date, no official from the A-G\u2019s Department was in court.<\/p>\n
A highly placed source from the A-G\u2019s office told the Daily Graphic: \u201cWe only got to know of the case through online portal reports which indicated that we were absent in court.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have filed a 72-page detailed address justifying why Woyome\u2019s freedom should be curtailed. Why then would we fail to appear in court?\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
The offence<\/strong> \u201cOur clerk signed for both of them.
