Suspended Second Vice Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe, says he will be compelled to seek redress in court if the party prevents him from discharging his duties as expected of him.<\/p>\n

If anyone has a problem with that the person can seek a restraining order on me unless and until I am properly processed. If you try to stop or obstruct me from doing my duties then I will seek a restraining order against you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr. Crabbe, who is perceived as an ally to the suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko was suspended indefinitely along with party General Secretary Agyapong after he refused to appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee after several invitations.<\/p>\n

But Mr. Crabbe insists that his suspension is illegal and\u00a0will continue to hold on to the position.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Citi FM<\/strong>\u2019s News analysis programme on Saturday, The Big Issue<\/strong>, Sammy Crabbe said although per the NPP\u2019s constitution, aggrieved party members are to use internal dispute resolution structures, he will not resort to that path because the Committee that suspended him was not legally constituted.<\/p>\n

Mr. Crabbe added that per the NPP’s Constitution, only an elected National Chairman can commence such disciplinary actions against him.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0warned that the continuous suspension of party executives could spell doom for the party ahead of the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n

Why NPP suspended Sammy Crabbe<\/strong><\/p>\n

The NPP petition against Mr. Sammy Crabbe accused him of\u00a0violating of article 3 (D) on the duties of a member.<\/p>\n

They said “Mr. Sammy Crabbe on several occasions publicly went against the NEC decision on the 23rd October, 2015 suspending Mr. Paul Afoko. He also in conjunction with Mr. Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong launched party membership cards and fundraising activities without authorization from NEC.”<\/p>\n
