The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has justified the suspension of its General Secretary and Second Vice-Chairman saying they flagrantly flouted the party\u2019s constitution.<\/p>\n

Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe were suspended on Thursday by the party\u2019s National Executive Committee following a recommendation made by the party\u2019s disciplinary committee.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”Yg5VN37MrhRsUU25Vuikagh0kl66BipP”]Mr Agyepong is being accused among other charges of acting against the orders of NEC and conspiring with suspended chairman, Paul Afoko, to act in contravention of party dictates.<\/p>\n

Addressing journalists after the decision on the two was taken, Director of Communications for the NPP Nana Akomea justified the decision to suspend both men.<\/p>\n

Below is the reasons given for the suspension.<\/p>\n

Reasons for suspending Kwabena Agyepong:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A) Violation of Article 3(D) of the NPP constitution which enjoins members to publicly uphold the decisions of the party, through various acts including;<\/p>\n

i. His disregard for NEC decision on 23rd\u00a0October, 2015, suspending Mr. Paul Afoko.<\/p>\n

ii.\u00a0Various Public statements he made that cast the Party in bad light.<\/p>\n

B)\u00a0He engaged in unilateral actions and activities without consultation of, or authorization by the NEC, such as;<\/p>\n

i.\u00a0Writing to the Electoral Commission designating only himself and suspended Chairman Afoko as the only authorized signatories.<\/p>\n

ii.\u00a0Granting waivers to parliamentary aspirants<\/p>\n

iii.\u00a0Non-reference of legal matters to the proper legal Committee of the Party<\/p>\n

iv.\u00a0Interference with Constituency primaries against National Appeal Committee decisions and also, Court decisions.<\/p>\n

v.\u00a0Misrepresentation\/misleading of NEC on status of some constituency primaries<\/p>\n

vi.\u00a0He, in conjunction with suspended Chairman Afoko and Sammy Crabbe, launched Party cards without authorizations from NEC.<\/p>\n

Reasons for suspending Sammy Crabbe:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The gravamen of the petition against Mr. Sammy Crabbe involved his violation of article 3 (D) on the duties of a member.<\/p>\n

Mr. Sammy Crabbe on several occasions publicly went against the NEC decision on the 23rd\u00a0October, 2015 suspending Mr. Paul Afoko.<\/p>\n

He also in conjunction with Mr. Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong launched party membership cards and fundraising activities without authorization from NEC.<\/p>\n
