{"id":172530,"date":"2015-12-07T14:20:25","date_gmt":"2015-12-07T14:20:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=172530"},"modified":"2015-12-07T14:56:53","modified_gmt":"2015-12-07T14:56:53","slug":"railway-workers-to-withdraw-services-next-week-over-salaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/12\/railway-workers-to-withdraw-services-next-week-over-salaries\/","title":{"rendered":"Railway workers to withdraw services next week over salaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ghana Railway Workers Union has served notice that it will from next week withdraw its passenger services from Accra to Tema and Accra to Nsawam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This, the union said is as a result of the failure on the part of government to pay their two months salaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a National Executive Committee resolution passed and jointly signed by the General Secretary and Chairman of the Railways Workers Union, \u201cNEC therefore resolve that if by December 18 2015 the Railway company does not honour its pay obligation in full including December pay, Railway workers shall withdraw their services in running of passenger services from Accra to Tema and Accra to Nsawam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The union also called for the immediate dissolution of the Board of Directors for the Ghana Railway Company Limited following what the NEC\u00a0described as a \u201cfailure on the part of the board to execute its functions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cNEC therefore calls for the immediate resolution of the board and a new one instituted for effective policy formulation for the company.
