A government delegation led by the Minister of Power, Kwabena Donkor on Sunday morning visited the Tema Harbour to welcome the arrival of the much expected power ship from Turkey.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n The ship which will add about 225 megawatts of power to the nation\u2019s grid arrived on Saturday.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Speaking to the media after a short ceremony to welcome the ship, the Minister of Power said though it will boost \u00a0Ghana’s power supply, he stressed that the power ship will not totally solve the power crisis.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Meanwhile officials from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) disclosed that, the barge will be connected to the nation\u2019s power grid within a week.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The barge which was built by Turkish company, Karpowership, was expected to dock at Tema on Friday afternoon but was pushed back due to some delays in documentation and routine formalities at the Abidjan Port, where the barge was offloaded by the Black Marlin, a speed deck cargo ship.<\/p>\n
