{"id":169359,"date":"2015-11-25T08:00:27","date_gmt":"2015-11-25T08:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=169359"},"modified":"2015-11-25T06:21:57","modified_gmt":"2015-11-25T06:21:57","slug":"ghanas-oil-future-gloomy-acep","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/11\/ghanas-oil-future-gloomy-acep\/","title":{"rendered":"Ghana\u2019s oil future &#8216;gloomy&#8217; &#8211; ACEP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The African Center for Energy Policy (ACEP), has hinted that the future of Ghana\u2019s oil sector is \u201cvery gloomy\u201d following what it describes as \u201cthe awarding of oil contracts to \u201cinexperienced, incapacitated and incompetent oil companies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Executive Director of ACEP, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, this behaviour will by every means lead Ghana\u2019s sector shocking all persons who might have had high hopes of better prospects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;hZx2wLhBpG0ViniZ8JzJAMAjstp9RL0v&#8221;]Dr. Amin who was speaking at the 2015 African Oil Governance Summit in Accra said \u201cit is gloomy and I am very certain about this because I know the caliber of the 11 companies Ghana has signed contracts with that they do not have the capacity as far is technical and financial abilities are concerned, I have been investigating their capacities and unless we have companies that have the muscles to find new reserves, we are seriously heading for doom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He remarked that \u201coil reserves depletes and so what we have to do is to do more discoveries to replace those that we are depleting, but if you sign contracts with companies that do not have the capacities to explore, let alone make new discoveries.
