Supreme Court Justice, William Atuguba, is asking members of the country\u2019s judiciary to take a cue from investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ latest expos\u00e9 and change their ways.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening of the 2015\/2016 legal year,\u00a0Justice Atuguba said the scandal had dented the image of the Judiciary hence\u00a0the need for a change<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”wAwgonJOxoL9TROlBIhUDUL9KtGKwQwM”]According to him, members of the service must act professionally at all times in order to prevent such unfortunate happenings.<\/p>\n

“Let us open up a new era in our judiciary so that\u00a0corruption and all the shades cannot have an influence. This applies to all participants in the justice delivery. In sounding this caution, I am not passing judgement on anybody since what has engulfed us is still subject to determination by the appropriate authorities.”<\/p>\n

Over 30 judges and magistrates were captured on camera allegedly receiving bribes to pervert justice.<\/p>\n

A committee was subsequently set up to interrogate these judges and magistrates, who were implicated in the two-year investigative piece by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tigereyepi private investigative firm.<\/p>\n

The Chief Justice suspended some of the judges after a prima facie case was established against them.<\/p>\n

Other committees have also been set up to probe over 100 judicial staff, also implicated in the\u00a0expos\u00e9<\/p>\n

Latest development<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anas has since the airing of his latest piece come under intense criticism with many accusing him of using unethical means to entrap the judges.<\/p>\n

He has however defended his modus operandi deployed in uncovering his latest piece, emphasizing that<\/span> <\/a><\/strong>he followed due process.<\/p>\n
