{"id":168902,"date":"2015-11-22T17:20:10","date_gmt":"2015-11-22T17:20:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=168902"},"modified":"2015-11-22T17:59:10","modified_gmt":"2015-11-22T17:59:10","slug":"ndcdecides-power-minister-kwabena-donkor-wins-pru-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/11\/ndcdecides-power-minister-kwabena-donkor-wins-pru-east\/","title":{"rendered":"#NDCDecides: Power Minister Kwabena Donkor wins Pru East"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Minister of Power, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, has beaten his sole contender in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primary in the Pru East Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Kwabena Donkor, the incumbent MP, polled 3,938 votes securing victory over his opponent, Musa Fuseni who polled 1,130 votes in the 36 polling stations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There were 186 rejected ballots.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;pw8BaJAwM4KVmRWb4mN0wrzRcgwgU4Xg&#8221;]The District electoral commissioner, Mr. Henry Amoako, in his declaration of the results noted that votes from one the polling centers in the constituency were not included in the final result.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Without being specific he said that \u201cthere was an issue with the number of votes regarding the polling center and the number of votes found in the ballot box.\u201d<br \/>\nHe added that \u201cthe two sides came to a consensus that the result would not be included since it was bringing whole lot of misunderstanding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Kwabena Donkor, who has been heavily criticized over the unending power crisis in the country, has been under-pressure following his promise to Ghanaians to end the \u2018dumsor\u2019 by the end of December 2015.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He has vowed to resign should he fail to meet the deadline, a pledge the President has also taken seriously and vowed to act on it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Kwabena Donkor will by this victory be seeking a second term in Parliament in 2016.
