Mayor of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, will represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ablekuma South constituency in the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”qXonX9LNIx2FDTLLVYcs00gglXSKsECR”]\u00a0Oko Vanderpuije polled 3,298 while his main contender,\u00a0Nii Amo Doodo had 1,259 in the party’s parliamentary primary held on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Prior to the primaries, Oko Vanderpuije had in a Citi News<\/strong> interview promised total economic transformation for the area.<\/p>\n

Mr.\u00a0Vanderpuije said he has the ability to improve the economic life of traders, including fish mongers, fishermen and all other businesses in the constituency if he is given the opportunity.<\/p>\n

He said the constituents should consider his experience on the field as the Mayor of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).<\/p>\n

\u201cMy work as the AMA Mayor has given me the needed experience and had prepared me for parliament.\u201d<\/p>\n
