Incumbent Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, Alfred Agbesi was convincingly beaten by a young former officer of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Ernest Norgbey in the party\u2019s parliamentary primaries held on Saturday November 21.<\/p>\n

Mr. Alfred Agbesi, who was seeking a fourth term bid in Parliament, only managed to poll 1,745 votes, with the winner, Ernest Norgbey polling a whopping 5, 171 votes.<\/p>\n

The other contenders, Max Voy polled 590, Emma Kumadey polled 125, Numo Addison polled 74 with Abass Osabutey polling 155 of the total votes cast.<\/p>\n

In the Central Tongu constituency of the Volta Region, incumbent Joe Gidisu who contested against Frank Agbanator and Alex Hottordze who won the slot.<\/p>\n

South Dayi constituency sitting MP Simon Edem Asimah lost with 1,585 votes.<\/p>\n

Rockson Nelson Dafiamepkor, lawyer for businessman Alfred Woyome, won the candidature with 2,422 votes.<\/p>\n

Member of Parliament for North Dayi, also in the Volta Region, George Loh, lost his seat to a twenty-seven year old man. Nearly two million party members voted on Saturday, to elect parliamentary candidates and endorse President Mahama\u2019s candidature for 2016.<\/p>\n

Voting has generally been smooth except for nearly twenty constituencies where voting was suspended and scheduled for Sunday November 22, due to disagreements and irregularities with the voters\u2019 register.<\/p>\n

Some 728 aspirants are contesting in the race.<\/p>\n
