{"id":16870,"date":"2014-05-06T18:00:41","date_gmt":"2014-05-06T18:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=16870"},"modified":"2014-05-06T19:10:03","modified_gmt":"2014-05-06T19:10:03","slug":"mps-call-for-collaboration-among-politicians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2014\/05\/mps-call-for-collaboration-among-politicians\/","title":{"rendered":"MPs call for collaboration among politicians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency, Papa Owusu-Ankomah, has called for collaboration among politicians in accelerating the development agenda of the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said politics was an opportunity to serve better lives of people irrespective of the government of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Papa Owusu-Ankomah said this when he, together with other four New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs participated in the first meeting of the fourth session of the sixth assembly sitting of the Sekondi\/Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>The four; Joe Ghartey, MP for Essikado-Ketan, Joseph Cudjoe, MP for Effia, Joe Baidoo-Ansah, MP for Kwesimintsim and Kojo Okyere-Darko, MP for Takoradi.<\/p>\n<p>The five MPs took turns to address the Assembly members on issues such as road infrastructure and sanitation.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Okyere-Darko called on the assembly to re-position itself as the twin-city of Africa through proper branding of the assembly\u2019s works and achievement.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Ghartey called for the inclusion of traditional authority in assembly sittings as they are in direct contact with the people.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Cudjoe called on the assembly to improve the drainage systems within the metropolis.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Baidoo-Ansah noted the important role of assembly members in ensuring development at the local level and urged them to form closer collaboration with their MPs.<\/p>\n<p>Capt Anthony Cudjoe, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Takoradi said, the assembly bagged over GHC 1.6 million as revenue for the first quarter of the year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Source: GNA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency, Papa Owusu-Ankomah, has called for collaboration among politicians in accelerating the development agenda of the country.
