Africa\u2019s richest man, President of Dangote Group, Mr. Aliko Dangote, has described as false reports by some online news portals suggesting that he is among some 170 guests held hostage by gunmen at the plush Radisson Blu Hotel in the Malian capital, Bamako.<\/p>\n
Mr. Dangote, who was recently rated among the 100 most powerful people in the world by Forbes Magazine, said this in a tweet on Friday November 20.<\/p>\n
Although Mr. Dangote said he was in Mali on Thursday, whiles the hostage taking situation occurred on Friday, he did not state specifically if he stayed at the Radisson Blu Hotel, a five star hotel in Mali mostly used by expats in Mali.<\/p>\n
Mr. Dangote\u2019s tweet read \u201cRumour about me being held hostage is false. I was in Mali yesterday [Thursday]. Thank you for your concern. My prayers are with those involved\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
