They\u2019re just worried you might steal something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The students look taken aback at the suggestion, with one responding: \u201cWhy would we steal something?\u201d. Many people on social media accused the store of racially profiling its customers.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"element element-rich-link element--thumbnail element-rich-link--upgraded\" data-component=\"rich-link\" data-link-name=\"rich-link-1 | 1\">\n<div class=\"rich-link tone-news--item \">\n<div class=\"rich-link__container\">\n<div class=\"rich-link__image-container u-responsive-ratio\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i.guim.co.uk\/img\/media\/952326cfe0c3e478ad8b9bd7f0034d9c04bdf963\/58_0_1799_1079\/1799.jpg?w=460&amp;q=85&amp;auto=format&amp;sharp=10&amp;s=a54d634af99b2a1fa5c78f7dc756f3aa\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-link__header\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"rich-link__read-more\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Initially, Apple Australia refused to comment on the incident. But on Friday morning, Apple issued a statement from its head office in the US.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve looked into the details of the situation and we apologise to the customers involved,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to do everything in our power to ensure all our customers are treated the way they should be.
