Proud new dad Gil Solano made waves on the Internet on Monday, Nov. 9, after he shared a photo on Imgur of himself next to his wife as she was giving birth to their daughter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMy wife wanted to make sure that someone took a picture of the expression on our faces when our daughter was born today,\u201d he captioned the image. \u201cSo I took one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the viral photo, Solano looks ecstatic with a huge grin on his face as his wife, Sarah, clearly looks like she\u2019s in pain as she is in the midst of labor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also shared the photo on Reddit, where several persons who commented noted how inconsiderate it was of the new dad to be taking a photo during such a private \u2014 and likely painful! \u2014 Moment. Solano responded that Sarah was not only okay with the photo, but found it funny.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI showed it to her in between pushes and she cracked up,\u201d he wrote on a Reddit thread. \u201cNow I\u2019m reading her all of you guys comments while she feeds our healthy 7lb 6 oz girl.\u201d<br \/>\nSeveral other fathers chimed in by sharing photos of their own selfies from within the delivery room.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMy wife really wanted me to grab a selfie of us before she went into surgery for an emergency C-Section,\u201d one wrote. \u201cThis was after 4 hours of pushing only to discover the kid was too big to come out the old fashioned way. She was stoned out of her mind in the pic I took and she has no recollection of it due to all the meds they pumped her up with before the surgery.
