gruesome murder of the late Sadiq Abubakari<\/a><\/strong><\/span> has a negative impact on the country’s democratic credentials.<\/p>\n[contextly_sidebar id=”imcWezHnozYHoMzZovKMB2WU0QRSF4Vy”]The 37-year-old was stabbed to death last Friday by unknown assailants for allegedly locking down the party office and threatening to beat up the constituency Chairman who is believed to have made unpleasant comments about the flagbearer of the party, Nana Akuffo-Addo.<\/p>\n
Addressing his party members in Wa in the Upper West Region as part of his two-day official visit, President Mahama called on the Police to ensure justice for the deceased.<\/p>\n
He lamented that the recent violent happenings in the camp of the opposition NPP is wrong.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese things that are happening, acid bath is wrong and then recently another supporter was stabbed. It is not acceptable. I\u2019ve asked the Police to investigate and find those who did it and bring them to book.\u201d<\/p>\n
President Mahama maintained that \u201cthere is no place in our politics for violence. No amount of political power is worth shedding the drop of blood of any single Ghanaian. Politics is not a life and death struggle.”<\/p>\n
“Politics is live and let\u2019s live because this country belongs to all of us, it doesn\u2019t belong to one group of people.\u00a0So that is how we should handle our politics, by consensus because \u00a0we have the same objective. All of us want the country to be a better place, it\u2019s just that we differ in our approaches in how to do it. So it should not lead us to kill each other. And so we will find out who did this stabbing and murder of this youngman and police must bring them to book as early as possible,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
