President John Mahama has appointed COP John Kudalor as acting Inspector General of Police.<\/p>\n

This is to allow the\u00a0current IGP, Mohammed Alhassan, to begin his accumulated leave prior to retirement.<\/p>\n

The President, as per the Constitution, appoints the IGP in consultation with the Vice President who chairs the Police Council.<\/p>\n

Mohammed Alhassan has been occupying the position for two years now.<\/p>\n

He took over from former IGP, Paul Tawiah Quaye in 2013.<\/p>\n

Mr. Felix Sarpong, Deputy Director Operations of the Ghana Immigration Service, has also been appointed to act as Director of Immigration.<\/p>\n
