The nomination of Joey B\u2019s \u2018Tonga\u2019 set tongues wagging since his song is perceived as being sexually explicit and the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) did not encourage songs with risqu\u00e9 music.<\/p>\n
But Joey B has always insisted \u2018Tonga\u2019 is not profane and he is currently beside himself with joy that the song has earned him New Artiste of the Year at the VGMA hosted at the Accra International Conference Centre last Saturday.<\/p>\n
Joey B told Showbiz in an interview on Sunday that he was not surprised \u2018Tonga\u2019 won him \u2018New Artiste of the Year\u2019<\/em> because he worked hard for it.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I was announced winner of \u2018New Artiste of the Year\u2019<\/em>, I was not surprised because Ghanaians knew I deserved it.
