Six persons are in the grips of the Jaman South Police Command in the Bono Ahafo Region, for attempting to traffic 22 children.<\/p>\n

According to the District Police Commander, ASP Stephen Ofori Akrasi, the traffickers were recruiting their victims from Drobo, a town in the area, with the promise of securing them jobs in Accra.<\/p>\n

“We arrested six people comprising two women and four men. We arrested them allegedly trafficking 22 people to Accra under the pretence of giving them instant jobs. We arrested them on the 3rd November, 2015. We were monitoring them and we arrested all of them and brought them to the station.They are currently undergoing investigations.”<\/p>\n

In Marh 2015, a similar incident occurred in the Volta Region where about ten children and a suspected trafficker were detained<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>by the Nkwanta district Police\u00a0after a metro mass bus driver raised suspicions about their movement.<\/p>\n
