Hundreds of supporters of the suspended National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko, besieged the party’s headquarters on Thursday to\u00a0demand his reinstatement.<\/p>\n

The supporters say they are unhappy with the decision to suspend Afoko and want him reinstated. They also asked the party to allow Mr. Kwabena Agyepong to operate as the General Secretary without interference.<\/p>\n

Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Duke Opoku Mensah who was at the party\u2019s headquarters reported that the about \u00a0200 supporters claiming to be members of the NPP, are believed to have\u00a0been bused to the premises.<\/p>\n

Duke indicated that the protesters were holding placards with inscriptions such as \u201cFreddie Blay is not our Chairman”, “Afoko should be reinstated\u201d.<\/p>\n

He reported of a heavy police presence in the area to maintain law and order.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbout 7 policemen and \u00a08 police\u00a0vehicles are guarding a\u00a0barricade, \u00a0whiles\u00a0the main entrance\u00a0of the NPP headquarters has been locked.\u201d<\/p>\n
