Members of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSSAG) will from today wear red armbands in protest of their unpaid allowances.

This will begin a roadmap for an indefinite strike which will be declared next Monday, if government fails to pay their allowances which they say have been in arrears since the beginning of the year.

[contextly_sidebar id=”mhmYY0cBkReVjt0nMNPDTKwBDpcPeZOR”]The President of the Association, Alex Nartey, told Citi News the decision to embark on a strike has become necessary because meetings with their employers to have the issue resolved have yielded no results.

“If by close of Wednesday we do not see any positive results then from Thursday we will do a partial withdrawal of our services. That means that every staff will come to work at 12 noon and close at 4. After this partial withdrawal if we do not hear anything then we will proceed to embark on an indefinite strike.

“We started engaging management as far back as July this year but as we talk now nothing in spite of the times that have elapsed. We have also written letters and held direct consultations with relevant personalities and all these have not yielded results.”

This is the second time JUSSAG is embarking on a strike this year [2015].
