{"id":161480,"date":"2015-10-22T11:33:49","date_gmt":"2015-10-22T11:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=161480"},"modified":"2015-10-22T12:51:27","modified_gmt":"2015-10-22T12:51:27","slug":"create-awareness-on-brain-related-diseases-ghs-to-doctors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/10\/create-awareness-on-brain-related-diseases-ghs-to-doctors\/","title":{"rendered":"Create awareness on brain related diseases &#8211; GHS to Doctors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has challenged doctors across the country to raise public awareness on brain related disease especially brain aneurysm.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Director of Institutional Care Division of GHS, Dr. Samuel Kabah, this will help in the early detection and treatment of such conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Brain aneurysm\u00a0is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the\u00a0brain that causes stroke.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a gathering at the launch of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation Ghana, in Accra on Wednesday, Dr. Kabah called for a holistic campaign to create awareness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to think about it, diagnose it and then you can statistically record it but we don\u2019t have all the necessary things to be able to do the diagnosis\u2026Once you get the people\u2019s mindset tuned to it, you can always diagnose it and that is one of the campaigns we should be doing. Get the people\u2019s mindset tuned to it. Get the people to know the disease then we can move forward.<\/p>\n<p>For her part, the founder of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation Ghana, \u00a0Doris Yaa Osei who is also a survivor of Brain Aneurysm called on government to channel more resources into the training of more doctors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have neurosurgeons. I will like the government to put in resource for doctors to be trained specifically in this.
