The National Democratic Congress (NDC) should be expecting to secure at least 80 percent of the total votes in the Brong Ahafo Region come 2016.<\/p>\n
This is the assurance given by the Chief of Sunyani, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri, following what he described as satisfactory, the level of development brought to the area by the NDC government.<\/p>\n
The comments of Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri come days after the chief of Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region is reported to have assured President Mahama of 50 percent of the total votes in the region.<\/p>\n
The chiefs have clearly thrown caution to the wind and ignored the law that bars them from meddling in politics as its often the case when elections are approaching.<\/p>\n
Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri gave the assurance when he addressed a gathering at\u00a0Sunyani during\u00a0President Mahama’s visit to the area.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was surprised that the people of the Eastern Region promised President Mahama 50 percent of the votes but I am promising that we will give the president 80 percent of the total votes in the region,\u201d Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile some residents who spoke to Citi News<\/strong> were displeased with the comments by the chief.
