Students of the University of Southampton representing Enactus United Kingdom have emerged winners of the Enactus World Cup 2015 competition.<\/p>\n
Beating off competition from teams from Korea, United States and Morocco, the students gave a good account of their projects and captivated the crowd with their well-researched and sustainable projects.<\/p>\n
The team from the United Kingdom shared the success story of their \u2018Saneco Sanitary Towel\u2019 project, which trains women in rural African to use easy to manufacture sanitary towels.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”q3nHR7Hj5AhKeAS0FF9G2pnLjmnELAYL”]The team also showcased a project that sought to help provide toilets facilities to areas where they were non-existent. The team also focused their presentation on the letter \u2018E\u2019: Education Equality, Empowerment.<\/p>\n
The team walks away with the much sought after trophy and the bragging rights for the next year.<\/p>\n
On the their part, the team from the United States of America had projects focusing on the fight against malaria with bio solutions; using the traditional cooperative idea to empower women; and their \u2018cacaonmics\u2019 project, which sought to help cacao farmers in Ivory Coast to increase their wellbeing. The team was made of students from Brigham Young University, Hawaii.<\/p>\n
Team Morocco, the only African representatives in the competition, shared the inspiration behind their Kanoun stoves, which provide a healthier way of cooking; and their \u2018Boron\u2019 project, which seek to help provide cleaner and better access to potable water. The team comprised of students from Mohammedia School of Economics.<\/p>\n
Enactus Korea, represented by students from Seoul National University, shed some light on two of their projects. Project \u2018Nabi\u2019 focuses on ex-offenders and seeks to empower them to making \u2018hanbous\u2019 and Project \u2018Songil\u2019 which focuses on equipping blind masseurs with skills to change their lives.<\/p>\n
Global Head of Citizenship for KPMG International, Lord Dr. Micheal Hastings was awarded the Global Champion Award at the event while the Jack Shewmaker Leadership Award was given to the Country Leader for Kenya, James Shikwati.<\/p>\n
The night was filled with great joy and love as the Soweto Gospel Choir brought the crowd to its feet as they danced to celebrate a great world cup of entrepreneurship and leadership.<\/p>\n
Canada was unveiled as the host of the 2016 edition of the competition and promised to work hard to make the event even better.
