778 teachers in the North Tongu District in the Volta Region have been taken through a two day capacity building training program to help them improve on their productivity in schools and knowledge on financial management.<\/p>\n
The program, organised by the\u00a0Gilead consult, a management consultancy firm in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service brought together allied agencies including Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Controller and Accountant General\u2019s Department (CAG) and the Teachers Mutual Fund.<\/p>\n
Apart from the teachers who were the main target, some health workers in the area also benefitted from the workshop.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the opening ceremony at Battor, the Deputy Minister of Education and MP for the area, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa expressed worry over the dwindling academic performance in the area despite numerous initiatives he personally spearheaded as the MP to improve academic performance of schools in the area.<\/p>\n
