The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has began interrogating some of the judges indicted in the judicial corruption scandal.<\/p>\n

Two High Court Judges have so far appeared before the CID for interrogation.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”7eLQYCajWOFexdSvCHWLst1xLbvFMrmg”]The Head of Public Relations at the Police CID, ASP Benefo Darkwa told Citi News<\/strong> about 100 judicial staff will also be interrogated.<\/p>\n

”\u00a0We have 100 judicial staff members who are to be investigated… We have written to them and they have responded positively. This week two of them will be investigated and from next week, the rest and the judicial staff members will also be investigated.<\/p>\n

“Investigation takes a lot and we will do everything that we are required by law to do to come out with the facts of the issue. I can promise with the kind of cooperation we are receiving from them, we hope to finish very early. After the investigation we will write a report and send it to the AG for advice…”<\/p>\n

The CID is expected interrogate Justices John Ajet-Nasam, Paul Uuter Dery, Charles Quist, Kofi Essel-Mensah, Mustapha Habib Logoh, Ernest Obimpeh, and Ayisi Addo.<\/p>\n

The rest are Francis K. Opoku, Kwame Ohene-Essel, Ivy Heward-Mills and Asmah Akwasi Asiedu as well as Justices Yaw Ansu-Gyeabour and Mohammed Ahmed Mustapha who are both on retirement.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the committee set up \u00a0by the Chief Justice to investigate allegations of corruption<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>against some staff of the judicial service has began sitting.<\/p>\n
