Using youtube to build interest proved to be a good strategy as this teaser got him more than 100k views , beating many music videos released by local artists.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GeNVkT3CLV4\" width=\"654\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people thronged the conference center to watch and comment on the infamous video. But this was not without drama as one of the implicated justices attempted unsuccessfully to stop the screening. The issue was discussed heavily on radio, tv and social media by anyone with access to these channels. Below is an analysis of how social media reacted to the content of the video.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The major hashtags that trended<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The three main hashtags used by social media users in Ghana were <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23StopJudicialCorruption&amp;src=typd&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">#StopJudicialCorruption<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23AnasIsComing&amp;src=typd&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">#AnasIsComing<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23WatchingTheAnasMovie&amp;src=typd&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">#WatchingTheAnasMovie<\/a>. Though #StopJudicialCorruption was the official hashtag used by Anas&#8217; team in its Facebook post on Sept 10th, #AnasIcComing became more popular than #StopJudicialCorruption.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1273 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas1.jpg\" alt=\"Anas1\" width=\"499\" height=\"538\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>#AnasIsComing was inspired by a line in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=y5rneIo4jbk\" target=\"_blank\">Sarkodie&#8217;s Pizza and Burger track<\/a>\u2020in a line in which he warns corrupt officals to desist from bribery and corruption. #AnasIsComing was first used by @Baeless_me on twitter some 12 hours after, on the same day #StopJudicialCorruption was unveiled by \u2020the Tiger Eye Pi team.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Jokes on y&#8217;all who didn&#8217;t pay attention to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sarkodie\">@Sarkodie<\/a> when he said &#8220;Anas is coming&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Anasiscoming?src=hash\">#Anasiscoming<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00f3 Brown Shugar! (@baeless_me) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/baeless_me\/status\/642075597611618304\">September 10, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>#WatchingTheAnasMovie was the least popular of all the three major hashtags used on Ghana social media. This hashtag was used primarily by Starr fm&#8217;s @KafuiDey who got dozens of retweets because of his popularity. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>Justice Ivy Heward Mills receives 500 Cedis with smiles and warns Anas not to spill the beans <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WatchingTheAnasMovie?src=hash\">#WatchingTheAnasMovie<\/a> \u00f3 Kafui Dey (@KafuiDey) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KafuiDey\/status\/646400977940152322\">September 22, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Twitter beat Facebook and blogs<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1278 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas6.jpg\" alt=\"Anas6\" width=\"732\" height=\"429\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From the analysis, twitter seems to be the channel most preferred by Ghanaians to discuss social issues and subjects of national interests. There were more than 4,000 hits recorded on twitter whiles Facebook (though is the most popular social media channel) recorded a mere 68 with blogs trailing with 2 hits. Most of the posts came in on the 22nd and 23rd Sept.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1277 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas5-1024x574.jpg\" alt=\"Anas5\" width=\"751\" height=\"421\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The rot went international<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Besides Ghana, it turned out the United Kingdom and United States were the two other countries which showed interest in the expose. It is though not clear whether these are Ghanaians living abroad, foreigners or both.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1276 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.edwardtagoe.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Anas4.jpg\" alt=\"Anas4\" width=\"693\" height=\"411\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back home, other foreign dignitaries expressed their views on the expo. Notable among them is the Dutch Ambassador to Ghana @HansDocter who has published a few tweets on this matter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Depressed by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/anasglobal\">@anasglobal<\/a> film on judicial corruption. So many involved. All that time spent on seedy deals.
