The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has supported victims of recent floods which ravaged about 33 households in the Bilpela electoral area of the Tamale South constituency in the Tamale Metropolis.<\/p>\n
Both the Tamale South constituency and regional executives jointly donated undisclosed amount for the upkeep of the distressed victims.<\/p>\n
The NPP Northern Regional First Vice Chairperson, Hajia Samata Gifty Bukari and the Tamale South constituency Chairman, Chief Yussif Alhassan Mozeli (Naa double-double) led a delegation to the Bilpela community to empathize with the victims.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n Hajia Samata in a Citi News<\/strong> interview accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of neglecting the flood prone Bilpela community.<\/p>\n She encouraged the victims to remain calm whilst the party mobilizes enough resources to alleviate their plight.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n She made reference to the construction of the main Bilpela road and other projects executed by then Kufuor led NPP administration to prove that the party cared for Bilpela residents.<\/p>\n She promised that the party will do more for the area should it win the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The NPP Tamale South Parliamentary candidate, Yakubu Yussif admonished the community leaders to distribute the donation to the victims devoid of political considerations.<\/p>\n He appealed to government, philanthropists and civil society organizations to support the flood victims.<\/p>\n
