{"id":156475,"date":"2015-10-01T17:12:56","date_gmt":"2015-10-01T17:12:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=156475"},"modified":"2015-10-01T17:12:56","modified_gmt":"2015-10-01T17:12:56","slug":"uds-not-a-tribal-university-professor-haruna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/10\/uds-not-a-tribal-university-professor-haruna\/","title":{"rendered":"UDS not a tribal university-Professor Haruna"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The out-gone Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Processor Haruna Yakubu has dismissed claims that the university was established with a tribal connotation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Though it was established with the three regions of the north in mind, he said the UDS under his watch opened its frontiers to national and international communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor Haruna Yakubu reiterated his standpoint when he officially handed over to the new Vice Chancellor, Professor G.A Teye.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-156480 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-3.jpg\" alt=\"uds people (3)\" width=\"533\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-3.jpg 533w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-3-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He touted the UDS as one of the leading Ghanaian public universities which gained international stardom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He commended all the UDS staff for their meritorious services which according to him uplifted the university\u2019s trademark.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor Haruna Yakubu challenged the new Vice Chancellor to improve on his legacy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor G.A Teye thanked his predecessor for his exemplary leadership.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As means of not devaluing Professor Haruna Yakubu\u2019s achievements, the new Vice Chancellor promised to build on the foundation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professor Teye served notice that his administration will not tolerate laziness in all sectors of the chain of command.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He therefore stressed the need for the teaching and non teaching staff to reinforce their teamwork.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He pledged to liaise with traditional and opinion leaders and all duty bearers to make the UDS unique.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Heads of the various departments praised Professor Haruna Yakubu for his remarkable stewardship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They urged the new Vice Chancellor to emulate his predecessor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-156477 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-1.jpg\" alt=\"uds people (1)\" width=\"533\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-1.jpg 533w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/uds-people-1-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAccording to the UDS Registrar Dr. A.BT Zakariah, the out-gone Vice Chancellor was a unifier and all-inclusive leader.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said the university will forever be indebted to Professor Haruna Yakubu for his unprecedented record.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Zakaria implored the new Vice Chancellor to abhor autocracy and deepen collaboration with the sectional heads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmononline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The out-gone Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Processor Haruna Yakubu has dismissed claims that the university was established with a tribal connotation.
