{"id":155767,"date":"2015-09-29T15:32:37","date_gmt":"2015-09-29T15:32:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=155767"},"modified":"2015-09-29T15:47:05","modified_gmt":"2015-09-29T15:47:05","slug":"implicated-judges-ordered-to-reappear-before-investigative-cttee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/09\/implicated-judges-ordered-to-reappear-before-investigative-cttee\/","title":{"rendered":"Implicated judges ordered to reappear before investigative c&#8217;ttee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 22 lower court judges contesting the legality of the investigative committee set up by the judicial council will now have no option but to appear before it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;ZOqveEq15gJl7LvIECqQ33zB34zKDcar&#8221;]This was after the presiding judge, Justice Getrude Torkonoo dismissed the case brought before her by some of the judges alleged to have been involved in the judicial bribery scandal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The judges were seeking the court to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/09\/18\/judicial-scandal-committee-suspends-sitting\/\" target=\"_blank\">declare as \u201cillegal\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/span> the work of the committee and their subsequent suspension, null and void.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In her ruling justice Getrude Torkonoo said the Judicial Council was only performing its administrative role by appointing the committee to look into the matter, an action she says &#8220;cannot be illegal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The application to strike out the case was brought by the Attorney General.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier in the day, the injunction against the committee <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/09\/29\/anas-expose-court-dismisses-injunction-against-committee\/\" target=\"_blank\">was also struck out<\/a><\/strong><\/span> by the same judge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Fred Djabanor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 22 lower court judges contesting the legality of the investigative committee set up by the judicial council will now have no option but to appear before it.
