{"id":155370,"date":"2015-09-28T14:06:39","date_gmt":"2015-09-28T14:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=155370"},"modified":"2015-09-29T06:03:34","modified_gmt":"2015-09-29T06:03:34","slug":"greater-accra-nagrat-threatens-strike-by-end-of-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/09\/greater-accra-nagrat-threatens-strike-by-end-of-september\/","title":{"rendered":"Greater Accra NAGRAT threatens strike by end of September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even before an earlier <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/09\/19\/nagrat-concerned-teachers-to-strike-over-unpaid-allowances\/\" target=\"_blank\">ultimatum<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0issued by the Coalition of Concerned Teachers(CCT) and the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) for government to address their concerns elapses, the Greater Accra Regional Branch of NAGRAT, has given government up to September 30, to pay all allowances owed them or face their wrath.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The warning follows what the group says is a failure on the part of government to meet their demands despite numerous appeals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFor every year,\u00a0we are supposed to be given salary increment in our appointment letter, but the government has refused to pay the salary arrears for the 2011\/2012 academic year,\u201d Chairman of the Greater Accra NAGRAT, Rene Kwamikorkor said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;GcuLVv7zjxiorziFpcaEQ5UAMytShprA&#8221;]He further revealed that the government is yet to pay them the arrears since the implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy (SSPP),<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWhen the government started the SSPP, they stopped the payment of some allowances;\u00a0we were told that we should hold on when we are on the Single Spine those payments would be paid to us.
