Some youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)\u00a0in\u00a0the Chereponi Constituency, besieged the\u00a0party\u2019s Northern Regional Secretariat over the alleged disqualification of the\u00a0District Chief Executive, Hajia Mary Nakobo,\u00a0ahead of the party’s November 7 parliamentary primaries.<\/p>\n
<\/a><\/p>\n The youth in a Citi News<\/strong> interview demanded that the DCE, who is their preferred candidate, should be reinstated to contest in the\u00a0primaries.<\/p>\n The protesters’ spokesperson, Kwabena Nelson, told Citi News that Hajia Mary Nakobo, has been\u00a0accused of holding\u00a0allegiance to the National Democratic Party (NDP) in Chereponi, a party founded by former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”z2rHlLeVJvXnmS8sgJyBoIrKhH6jb6bv”]He however rubbished that allegation and maintained that the DCE, who is among the only four women in the parliamentary race in the region, should be given the nod to join the race.<\/p>\n \u201cThe allegation that was brought\u00a0against her was that she brought the NDP to Chereponi and we are coming to dismiss or defuse that allegation and ask for a solution so that they can reinstate her to\u00a0wrestle power for us in the constituency.\u201d<\/p>\n
