<\/a>Though it is not clear why Apigy Afenu resigned from the company Citi Business News sources have attributed his fallout with the company over a rift between one of the airline\u2019s directors and the co-founder of AWA Togbe Afede over some financial disagreements.<\/p>\nPrior to working with AWA, he worked at United Airlines as a Financial Controller, EMEA from 2004 to 2009 where he began his career in airlines and served as a Senior Associate from 2001 to 2003.<\/p>\n
Mr. Afenu has more than 20 years work experience in financial management, in areas ranging from financial services to transportation services.<\/p>\n
Prior to rejoining United Airlines, Mr. Afenu was an Associate at Sterling Merchant Bank, and Lamont & Co.<\/p>\n
Before that, he held management positions mainly in financial institutions. He attended the University of Ghana Business School and holds a BSc in Business Administration he also has an M.B.A. in Finance from Yale School of Management, United States.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile Citi Business News has gathered that one Captain Samuel Thompson will be taking up Apigy Afenu\u2019s position.<\/p>\n
