HFC Bank has donated over Ghc340, 000 to fourteen institutions as part of the bank\u2019s corporate social responsibility initiative.<\/p>\n
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the annual corporate donation exercise in the year, Managing Director of HFC Bank Robert Le-Hunte, said the donation, which was done every year on behalf of shareholders, formed part of the bank\u2019s corporate social responsibility of responding to the needs of institutions contributing extensively to the development of the country.<\/p>\n
The institutions included the Ghana Blind Union, Ridge Hospital, and Accident Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana Hearts Foundation and Catholic Action for Street Children and Help Age Ghana. The rest were the Bonwire Anglican Primary School, SOS Ghana, Students Financial Aid Office of the University of Ghana, National Partnership for Children\u2019s Trust and the 37 Military Hospital.<\/p>\n
Mr. Robert Le-Hunte in an interview with Citi Business News said HFC Bank recognized the role of society in individuals’ lives as they grew up and the bank going forward hopes to invest heavily in education and sports development in Ghana.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe appreciate the role of society in the sustainability of our businesses and will always give back to help build especially the youth\u201d.<\/p>\n
Robert Le-Hunte said the day\u2019s event was important on the bank’s calendar, especially when it coincided with its majority shareholder\u2019s Republic bank of Trinidad and Tobago\u2019s independence anniversary, he said.<\/p>\n
He expressed concern about the plight of the less privileged in society hence the initiative of giving back to society especially in the area of sports development where he believes the bank wants to play a role in the nation\u2019s quest to develop the youth who are interested in various sporting disciplines to become world champions.<\/p>\n
Recipients thanked the bank for its continuous support of impacting lives positively and appealed to other benevolent institutions to emulate the kind gesture of HFC Bank to help in the country\u2019s development.
