The festival is marked annually to commemorate the symbolic sacrifice and service of Prophet Ibraham to Allah.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The occasion is often characterized by the slaughtering of goats, sheep and cattle for feasting. Addressing the gathering, the Public Relations Officer of the Council, Alhaji Umar Baba Issa, said parents have a major role to play in shaping the lives of their children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAnd again, what is happening within the Muslim community internationally, it is so important that we call on our parents to try as much as possible to get closer to their children and counseling and advice must be the order of the day. Again, it\u2019s our duty as responsible parents to be closer to our children and impact knowledge that will be of great value to our children.
