The Chairperson of the National Developmental Planning Commission (NDPC), Dr. Nii Moi Thompson has advocated a more localized approach to help Ghana achieve the aims of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n
His basis for such call is that the inclusion of people at the local level of governance will ensure ownership and facilitate the attainment of the outlined goals in the SDGs.<\/p>\n
Dr. Nii Moi Thompson was speaking at the launch of Ghana\u2019s final Millennium Developmental Goals (MDGs) report which examines progress made between 2000 and 2015.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of the main lessons of the MDGs is that implementation and monitoring should be localized. This will ensure stronger ownership and better prospects for attaining the SDGs in record time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
