{"id":153615,"date":"2015-09-21T16:57:24","date_gmt":"2015-09-21T16:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=153615"},"modified":"2015-09-21T16:57:24","modified_gmt":"2015-09-21T16:57:24","slug":"azorka-to-sue-azorka-to-sue-ndc-parliamentary-aspirants-ifparliamentary-aspirants-if","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/09\/azorka-to-sue-azorka-to-sue-ndc-parliamentary-aspirants-ifparliamentary-aspirants-if\/","title":{"rendered":"Azorka to sue NDC parliamentary aspirants if\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Northern Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned that he will impeach any failed Parliamentary aspirants in the region who dare to contest the 2016 Parliamentary election as independent candidates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief Awudu Sofo Azorka recalled that a similar bad faith exhibited by some disgruntled Parliamentary aspirants during the 2012 Parliamentary election necessitated the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) winning 10 seats in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He \u00a0spoke to <strong>Citi News<\/strong> on the sidelines at a meeting with some of the Parliamentary aspirants in Tamale ahead of the vetting process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-153618 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-1.jpg\" alt=\"image (1)\" width=\"536\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-1.jpg 536w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-1-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 536px) 100vw, 536px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He fumed, \u201cSome peoples mind is if they lose they will go to independent and I tell them if you do that I will sue you straight: if they lose they will do anything to bring the candidate down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He repeated, \u201cThen I tell if you do that I will send you to court straight: you like the party because of that you are coming out to contest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He tasked all persons seeking the mandate of the people to contest the 2016 Parliamentary primaries to act responsibly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Chief Sofo Azorka impressed upon supporters and the campaign teams of the Parliamentary aspirants to stop the media warfare.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He instructed party leadership at all levels in the region to be neutral during the Parliamentary contest.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>NPP to lose in Northern Region<\/strong><br \/>\nChief Sofo Azorka served notice that the NPP will not win a single seat in the Northern Region come the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said President John Mahama\u2019s unprecedented record will give him one touch victory in 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He accused then Kufuor led NPP administration of exiting office with HIPC loans it secured for developmental projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-153619 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-2.jpg\" alt=\"image (2)\" width=\"536\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-2.jpg 536w, https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/image-2-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 536px) 100vw, 536px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDo you know what make the country hot, where is the HIPC money? If you people go to the white man and collect big monies and come and tap it and the President is suffering, how can the country go forward,\u201d Azorka asked.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He promised to broker peace with the NPP Northern Regional leadership to ensure a violence free campaign season and peaceful elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Postponement of vetting<\/strong><br \/>\nAs vetting of the Parliamentary aspirants begin on Tuesday 22 September across the country, it has emerged that that of the Northern Region has been postponed until further notice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;mLjKtqxNX8TPQTaBWQqEUGsbyrwCg705&#8243;]The party\u2019s Regional Secretary, Lawyer Abdul Rauf Khalid attributed the postponement to the huge number of aspirants in the race (120).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He further cited the Eid-Ul Adha celebration slated for Thursday September 24, 2015 as another reason.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campaign against Alhassan Suhuyini thickens<\/strong><br \/>\nIn a related development, NDC branch executives of the Maltiti Youth Association in the Tamale north constituency has petitioned the constituency executives challenging Radio Gold\u2019s Alhassan Suhuyini\u2019s candidature,<br \/>\nAlhassan Suhuyini is in the race with six other aspirants including a former Tamale North Member of Parliament, Alhaji Abubakari Sumani and the constituency Secretary, Mohammed Abdul Salam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Maltiti Branch Executives Youth Association\u2019s Secretary, Mohammed Zakaria in a statement copied Citi News described Alhassan Suhuyini as an alien in the constituency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cUnder the national election laws, a candidate is supposed to hail from a constituency or live there for at least five years before he can contest: while in Tamale Suhuyini lived in Kukuo in Tamale south constituency before moving to Accra and we wonder why he has not considered contesting the Tamale South seat but rather Tamale north.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mohammed Zakaria admonished the constituency executives to disqualify Alhassan Suhuyini at the vetting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alhassan Suhuyini declined to comment on the allegation and told Citi News in Tamale that his fate will be decided by the Tamale North constituency Electoral College at the primaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Abdul Karim Naatogmah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Northern Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned that he will impeach any failed Parliamentary aspirants in the region who dare to contest the 2016 Parliamentary election as independent candidates.
