The committee investigating allegations of corruption against 22 judges will sit today to continue its work.<\/p>\n

Lawyers for some of the magistrates are however pushing for an indefinite suspension of their meetings until a suit pending in court is determined.<\/p>\n
Some of the magistrates have filed a writ at the High Court questioning the legality of the process.<\/p>\n
14 out of the 22 accused judges, in their writ said their \u201csuspension is in bad faith,\u201d and that the court should declare the suspension \u201cnull and void.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Chief Justice set up the committee to investigate allegations of corruption against the magistrates following the expos\u00e9 by investigative journalist Anas Aremyaw Anas.<\/p>\n

\nAnother judge amongst the 12 high court judges accused of taking bribes in the latest investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has filed a suit at the Accra Fast Track Court seeking to among others, challenge the legality of the impeachment proceedings against him.<\/p>\n
