The Committee investigating Anas Aremeyaw Anas\u2019 latest corruption piece has declared its commitment to go ahead with its sittings despite a pending suit at the court.<\/p>\n

Some of the judges implicated in the video have resorted to the Fast Track High Court to challenge the processes<\/a><\/strong><\/span> leading to their suspension.<\/p>\n

Some are also asking the court to get the committee to stop its work, as according to them, their sittings to investigate them are illegal.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”jEEmYS8mH5ouDRA9MHjVUGX2cb3IP4Sn”]14 out of the 22 judges argued in their\u00a0writ that their\u00a0\u201csuspension is in bad faith,\u201d and that the court should declare the suspension \u201cnull and void.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lead Counsel for the 12 Circuit Court Judges and Magistrates, John Ndebugri insisted the Committee must stop its sittings till the application filed by the judges is heard on September, 22.<\/p>\n

Citi News’<\/strong> Franklin Badu Junior who was at the court on Tuesday however reported that members of the committee are determined to investigate allegations of bribery against some of the judges.<\/p>\n

“They are clear in their minds that their decision to hold the meeting is legal and not illegal,” Franklin said.<\/p>\n

Sittings adjourned<\/strong><\/p>\n

The committee has adjourned sittings on the case to Friday.<\/p>\n

Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Franklin Badu Junior reported that the \u201cadjournment was occasioned by the absence of one of the members of the committee investigating the case.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Anas Aremeyaw Anas was at the court premises today, even though it is unclear why he was there.<\/p>\n
