{"id":150820,"date":"2015-09-12T08:36:37","date_gmt":"2015-09-12T08:36:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=150820"},"modified":"2015-09-11T20:40:00","modified_gmt":"2015-09-11T20:40:00","slug":"lets-consolidate-npps-base-to-secure-2016-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/09\/lets-consolidate-npps-base-to-secure-2016-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"Let\u2019s consolidate NPP\u2019s base to secure 2016 elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A former flagbearer contender of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng has stressed on the need for the party to consolidate its base across the party if it is to win the 2016 general elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He contends that it will be very challenging for the NPP to secure power from the governing NDC if the party fails to mobilize enough supporters to vote for it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alan Kyeremanteng made the call at the eastern region during a visit to the area by the party\u2019s flagbearer, Nana Addo as part of the rise and build tour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;cV502UlOcgccu3G4jUzSVTI8QEIdZlxr&#8221;]\u201cBefore we can say we are winning the election decisively we must consolidate our base, we must make sure we don\u2019t lose any vote from an NPP sympathizer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Alan Kyeremanteng further stated called on party members to continue to support the party in the 2016 elections despite the current internal challenges.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Council has written to the Disciplinary Committee of the party to investigate Mr. Afoko for what it termed as a breaching the party\u2019s constitution by making public comments on the state of the party\u2019s finances.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They are also asking for \u00a0Mr. Afoko be made to <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/09\/10\/suspend-afoko-npp-council-of-elders-demand\/\" target=\"_blank\">step aside<\/a><\/strong><\/span> until after the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But the office of Mr. Afoko has described as surprising the decision taken by the National Council of the party on the fate of the National Chairman.
