Black Stars and Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew showed a side of him unknown to the rest of the world when he reached out to some orphaned kids in Rwanda when Ghana visited for the Afcon 2017 qualifier.

The 30 orphans who are victims of the Rwandan genocide were afforded the opportunity to watch the match at the Amahoro while they received some food items and a cash sum.

Jordan revealed that he felt the urge to reach out to the less privileged upon reflection of how loved ones had always been there for him his entire life.

“I think this is very important because some of us are very lucky to have our parents still alive and some of them don’t have their parents.

“I spoke to my wife about it and she said it was a good idea so I did what I could for the kids and I hope it brings them happiness.

“I was only a kid when those incidents happened but I heard a lot about it and when I arrived here I wanted to do something to help the situation,” he mentioned.

The 23 year old striker also revealed that he was hoping to persist with efforts to help the less privileged in his journey across the world.

“Any country I visit I will do my best to help the kids who don’t have parents and are poor because I think its a noble thing,”he told some pressmen at the presentation.

Jordan won Ghana the set piece which provided the only goal in the 1-0 victory against the Amavubi and will be hoping to turn on the style when he returns to action for club side Aston Villa.

He has played 149 minutes of football for his new team and uis likely to feature when they travel away to play Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
